When dialing an international call, a long distance code number is required. I was able to program the code on speed dial on our older Nortel phone but am unable to make it work on the new cisco phone. Is there a proper way to go about programming the auth code? Thank you

Hi Susan,
Are you looking for help on programming the 'password' restriction for dialing international numbers, or do you already have that configured (for example, Forced Authorization Codes) and are looking for help programming the 'password' to a speed dial to automatically put that in when attempting to dial a Forced Authorization Code enabled route pattern?

I have the auth code on my speed dial. When I make a new call and dial an international number, I will get 3 beeps and a secondary dial tone. The secondary dial tone is to add the auth code. If I press the speed dial where the auth code is programmed, nothing happens. sorry but your question sounded too technical so I wanted to explain the scenario to you. Is there another way to program an auth code (password) so that when the secondary dial tone comes on, you can press something programmed on the phone to automatically dial the auth code for you. Hope I answered the question

No way to do that with CUCM, reach Paolo if you're interested for a solution.
Speed dials don't work once a call is established and CUCM has no way to insert pauses. Reach Paolo if you're interested in a solution.

Paolo, Yes I am interested in a solution. If speed dial does not work but there is a solution to this problem, is it something any user can do or is this a change in the CM?

Heres a link to help understand digit manipulation, wildcards etc. It contains the info on creating dial peers that use a comma for pause as well.
