How to upgrade IOS on Cisco Router 2801 ?

Hi,

Bellow the router's information 

Cisco 2801 (revision 7.0)
CME 4.1(0)
IOS 12.4(11)XJ


Now, I want to upgrade Cisco IOS to the 15.1(3)T  IOS.
I don't have any CD. I don't know the method, though I have NEVER upgraded IOS before.
Please tell me:
1. How can I get the 15.1(3)T version of Cisco IOS for Router 2801 ?
2. How can I get the program to use to backup and restore the Router's configurations ?

Both questions are often asked and discussed if you could take the time to search before asking.

My recommendation however is that you engage a reputable consultant, or UC certfied Cisco partner, instead of trying to do yourself.

Hi Fida,

You need to look into below  steps:

a. Check the DRAM and Flash Size before u upgrade IOS?

b. You need to have CCOId to download the desired 15.x version.

c. take backup of startup-config by using command copy startup-config  tftp:

d. upgrade IOS of router using command copy tftp: flash:c28xx.bin [desired version]

e. before u start steps c and d , download tftpd32 software fron Internet and run in a PC . tftp should run in background.while taking backup and upgrading IOS.

Also, as suggested by Mr. Paolo, u should involve consultant to work on live router.
