I am trying to add a Cisco Presence Server

When installing the presence server is requires a Security password to connecting into the CUCM environment. No one knows the password that was used when the CUCM system was setup. I have the answer file that was used but the password is encrypted. I was wondering if there is any way  to decrypt the password in the answer file, so I don't need to change the password. If not, the document to change the password doesn't seem to be clear on which node to do first, the Publisher or Subscriber, and if  this can be done without taking down the entire system for a period of  time. If you could provide any help or incite into this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

No way to decrypt and the documentation does explain what you're asking about order and whether you need to reboot or not.

set password user

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/cli_ref/8_6_1/cli_ref_861.html#wp156897

Servers in a cluster use the security password to authenticate  communication between servers. You must reset the cluster after you  change the security password.

Procedure

Step 1 Change the security password on the publisher  server (first node) and then reboot the server (node).

Step 2 Change the security password on all the subsequent  servers/nodes to the same password that you created on the first node  and restart subsequent nodes, including application servers, to  propagate the password change.

Note Cisco recommends that you restart  each server after the password is changed on that server.

Caution Failure to reboot the servers (nodes) causes  system service problems and problems with the Cisco Unified  Communications Manager Administration windows on the subscriber servers.

Hi

You need the password in order to change the password though!

So you would need to follow the password recovery procedure as listed here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/cucos/7_1_2/cucos/iptpch2.html#wp1044244

On all servers... AFAIK it doesn't actually matter which order, but they won't communicate properly until they're all done and rebooted.
