Inbound fax fails, ATA h323

CM 5.1, 2851 router at remote location using analog lines connected to an EVM module configured as a h323 gateway. Port 2/0/21 is a fax line. Remote building has an ATA connected to the fax machine and is using port 2/0/21 for their faxes.

I have the following commands:

voice service voip

fax protocol pass-through g711ulaw

h323

h225 timeout setup 3

!

!

voice class codec 1

codec preference 1 g711ulaw

codec preference 2 g729r8

I have 2 dial-peer voice X voip and specified codec g711ulaw. Outbound faxes work fine, inbound fax do not. The fax machine answers the call but displays receiving / connecting on the display. The person sending the fax explains that it rings, they hear a faint fax noise like it is receiving and then goes away and just beeps. Can anyone help me out with this scenario?

Thanks in advance.

I was able to resolve the problem, I moved the gateway to a g711 device pool and added voice-class codec 1 under the voip dial-peers that point to CallManager. Tested and works fine now.
