install license on cisco router 2900 series

If you have recived a PAK then register it on Cisco.com/go/license

You will receive license in an email. Copy to flash and use the below command to install the license.

license install flash0:XXX

Once you install the license, you already have active evaluation license and may not need a reload.

Run the command show version to verify the UC9 perm license is installed.

I issued this command '  license boot module technology-package uck9 and after rebooting the router ,i saw the following 

Technology Package License Information for Module:'c2900'

uck9 is in Evaluation but not permanent 

how i change it from evaluation to permanent

On the other side of the coins,

I am having issues between my cme router and Mobile and remote access through expressway series

1.users from cme are able to see the MRA users but MRA users are not able to see CME users. They can hear but their video are disabled

There is no problem between cme user and another cme user.

Thanks for the helpful link.It seems i have to purchase the permanent license from cisco. With the PAK and UDI ,i can download license file from the license portal.

That is correct you will need to purchase the permanent license from CCO using the PAK and UDI

Do you have an idea of how i can upgrade cme 8.0 (new 2900 router) to cme 10.5.The ios is version 15.1. I have read that ios versio 15.6 support cme 11.0 .How does one upgrade the cisco ios from 15.1 to 15.6.? is it by ordering the ios flash ?

Before you upgrade check the CME memory requirement .

Download the 15.6 IOS from CCO and upload to the flash of IOS router.

conf t

no boot system

boot system flash:<name of 15.6 IOS file>

wr mem

reload

i guess it is possible to copy ios image from one device (2911 router) to 2901 (router) via tftp server

1)How do i back up my license file especially the permanent license for the uck9 to my tftp? I have just backed up the startup-config to the tftp server.I don't know if the license file is included

2) i have two cisco 2900 routers. One has the permanent license file  for uck9 installed .Is it possible to transfer this license file to the other? i think it might be possible through license host but i doubt if the two devices can have the license installed

I have downloaded  the following ios c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.156-3.M3.bin

I want to know if i will loose my uck9 license once i upgrade the ios

There will be no impact to the license file installed on the router when you upgrade the IOS image.
