Hi, i have serious problems to do 7961 firts configuration.
Network and setting command were disabled therefor i have reset phone.
Now it try to connect at lan network with an infinite reboot cicle.
What can i do? It's necessary an firmware upgrade?
Where can i find free download for Cisco product?

Try factory reset and see if it helps...
- Power cycle the phone
- Hold the # key while phone is booting.
- Wait for the 6 line lights to light up in sequence.
- Then type the following key sequence: 123456789*0#
If that does not help, a more complete reset can be done using the same procedure,
but with the following key sequence: 3491672850*#

I have just try first reset, but phone reboot every 2 minutes after display message:
[IP NUMBER] Upgrading
[Mac address] OK
or
[IP NUMBER] Upgrading
term61.default OK or ERROR
After this message it reboot, on display there are Cisco logos and double circle on the left, turn off display, turn on first and second programmable buttons and reboot.
Now i have tried second reset procedure:
- after 20 minutes on display there is nothing
- every 3-4 minutes turn on Mute and Speaker buttons, after some seconds turn on first and second programmable buttons, after nothing
How can i resolve? I have a traditional home router ADSL2+ (VPI 8/35, VCI 8/36)

Now on display nothing! Only speaker led on swich on.

Is this phone set to register with CME or CUCM? have you verified that the DHCP server is configured for the voice vlan? is the DHCP server set to provide the phone with the correct information? Can you share with us the DHCP server options configured?
The best thing to do would be to get a packet capture of the boot process to determine why the phone is not registering or upgrading its firmware.

If i switch on phone, on display nothing, after reset procedures!
I think it isn't a net problem, but another problem.
Exist a diagnostic tool?
