intercluster CUE fastbusy

Hello forum,

I'm having an issue with a cue module.

Let me describe the scenario:

I have two CUCM clusters in release 6, connected through an intercluster trunk.

When I  place a call from a phone in site A on cluster A to a CUE located on the same cluster but in a different site everything is fine.

When I call from a phone in cluster B to the CUE in site A cluster A, I get a fastbusy tone.

Do you have any ideas about?

Hi Lorenz

There are a number of things this could be. Firstly, what codec are you using across the ICT? Is it G.729? Unity Express only supports G.711, so if you are using G.729 (or anything other than G.711) across your ICT, then you will need transcoding.

The intercluster is g729. I know there should be a transcoder but where should I place it?

I mean on the trunk to the other cluster or under the device pool?

This is quite confusing for me

Hi Lorenz

You will need transcoding at the central site (next to the CUE). This means that G.729 will come across the ICT and then be transcoded into G.711 at the central site.
