Hi,

Does anyone know if the CIPC can be configured to work with SIP phones?

Router 2921

CME version 10.0

9971 SIP phones.

Thanks!

As far as I remember CIPC with SIP on CME does not work, at least it didn't on CME 9.

I have this info from Cisco for earlier versions

Cisco IP Communicator version 2.1 supports Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) as well as the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP).

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.0 and later versions when you use Cisco IP Communicator with SIP call-control protocol

So according to this it should be compatible but when trying to set up the config on CME you don't have an option for CIPC when setting up with SIP.

CUCM and CME are two completely different platforms. One is IOS based.  CIPC does work as SIP on CUCM but not as CME.
