ip phone 8945 crash/reboot from h264 video stream

Hello,

I would like to configure video stream between Cisco 8945 phones and regular softphone clients such as: Jitsi, Bria, Qutecom, Ekiga.

So far my experience with the SIP894x.9-4-2SR2-2.loads firmware is that when a video is being requested the phone crash/reboots :( Regular audio calls work fine both ways.

I will be trying the 9-4-2SR3-1 firmware but I don't have high hopes about it. Did anyone run into this issue before?

Unfortunately I don't get much in the phones logs (I'm logged in with SSH), when it crashes it just reboots no logs on the console.

It does the same with all the softphone clients from different Android devices/PCs so I guess it's not an issue with the client rather some way the firmware is processing the video stream.

I have

      <videoCapability>1</videoCapability>

in the xml config the phone pulls from tftp. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Reboot/crash is not an expected behavior for a phone, maybe you're hitting a bug. Although, you need to use the same video format on both endpoint, unless you have a Cisco Telepresence Service (MCU, Meeting or Conductor).
Cisco 8945's video supported format is as follow:

1. VGA (640x480) @ 30fps

2. W360p (640x360) @ 30fps (SIP version only)

3. CIF (352x288) @ 30fps

4. SIF (352x240) @ 30fps

5. QCIF (176x144) @ 30fps
