We are a global company with HQ's in Houston and Rotterdam. We are seeing more and more of what appears to be IP Phone spoofing. We get reports of calls being made that appear to come from one of our DIDs but is actually a solicitation or marketing call. Is there anything we can do to mitigate this? Obviously we cant block legitimate numbers. Customers (for the most part) understand when we explain that there is not much we can do but is that really true? Is there really nothing we can do? Thanks - Zane

Starting 2019, US FCC is "encouraging" US-based VoIP resellers to implement STIR &/or SHAKEN. Some, like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Comcast, Bandwidth.com, Cox, and Google have started but there are some that are "holding out". It will take time (about three to five years, minimum) for this standard to get implemented where most of the robocallers &/or number spoofers are originating from.
In the meantime, blocking the CID isn't really going to help and most likely INCREASE the spam calls. Why? Because once the spoofers/scammers reach a particular number then that number gets "registered" in their list. That list is then passed on from one scammer/spoofer to another.
I have two options:

So let me get this right. These are calls that do not transit your network at all. But are calls with a spoofed caller id? Also you dont happen to have a vcs expressway that is not hardened enough?
