IP phones default offer type

Hi guys,

I'm trying to go a little bit deeper with Sip and I have a doubt on early offer and delay offer.

My question is this: what is the default offer type (early or delayed) for a phone registered on Cucm?

I know Cucm sends DO by default on Sip Trunks, but my question is regarding endpoints: will they send to Cucm EO or DO? It depends on model type or is it a configuration applied somewhere?

If this is a configuration, where do I set EO or DO for a phone?

Thanks for your comments

hi,

sip devices registered on CUCM do early offer by default. now CUCM transmit it as EO or DO, default would DO.

refer https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/collab10/collab10/trunks.html

regards

Anything newer than the 7940/7960 supports EO.

Also, CUCM support EO on SIP trunks. You just need to change the SIP Profile setting to Early Offer (Best Effort).
