Is it possible to add Mediatrix VoIP access devices (SIP) as a SIP gateway with Cisco CUCM?

Hi Experts,

I would request if someone can help me with a possible SIP design to add and implement Mediatrix 4104, 4108 and 4116 SIP devices with Cisco CUCM.

I have a customer who has retail shops in the US and all the retail shops have Mediatrix gateways which will be used to connect to their key system PBXs, analog phones and analog faxes etc.

I am looking at a way wherein I can add the Mediatrix gateways to CUCM so that the analog devices can register with CUCM and thus use CUCM dial plan to call PSTN numbers.

Here is the scenario that I am looking to design and implement:

Mediatrix Gateway (Analog phones)>>>SIP>>>Cisco CUCM >>>SIP Trunk>>>ACME SBC for PSTN calls.

Please help me out with this.

Regards,

Rishi

As far as CUCM is concerned, you only have two options to do this, and they depend on what your GW can do.

Either you try to register it as a 3rd party SIP phone, or you configure it as a SIP trunk.

I suggest you POC this.

Thanks Jaime.

I knew of those two options only, I just needed to confirm this and maybe confirm if something might have been introduced on CUCM 11.5.
