ISR 1100 POE and Cisco 7960/7940 IP phones

Hi Forum

We have recently bought a few Cisco ISR1100 router with POE on the first 4 ports. They cannot feed the old 7960/7940 IP phones, but have no problems in feeding and Cisco 2802 AP. I suppose this has something to do with the non standard way the old phones are requesting POE power. Is there any command you can use on the router to make this POE delivery to wok with these old IP phones?

The data sheet only lists 802.3af and 802.3at as Inline PoE capabilities (Table 40), not Cisco pre-standard PoE. You’ll need to use individual power bricks for the phones or better replace the phones with current models.

There is no command that would make the switch support the Cisco pre-standard POE.
