Issue with answering call on Line2,3 appearances on Cisco 8851 phones

what should happen for when calls come in on the phones that has multiples line appearances configured in it, the user has the option to choose one of the multiples lines that is flashing by pressing that specific line and then when they pick up the handset it should answers the call automatically.  but currently it does not work in that way.

There are multiple settings on the 88xx phones , exclude 21 and 31, that control how calls are handled and presented. Are you going with all the defaults for this phone family in your cluster?

yes, Andrew, they are all with the defaults for this phone family in the cluster. currently whenever an incoming call comes in,

incoming call -> press share line--> lift up handset --> press "Cancel" button --> press the share line again to answer the call.

we want this to be as follows;

incoming call --> press flashing share line --> lift up handset --> auto pickup the call.

Don't press the line just pickup the handset.

For example I have my first DN is 12345

My second DN is a shared line 54321

Regardless of where the line selector is if I place a call to 54321 I can just pick up the handset and it answers that line.
