Jabber - no audio

Most of the time, I have no audio on Jabber calls. Oddly, I occasionally do have audio. I've checked the audio section in settings to make sure all the correct devices are selected, for which I only have one device option for each (speakers). And I do have the green computer icon in the bottom right of the Jabber window, though occasionally it's red so I have to close and reload Jabber to get it green.

What else can I check?

Are you an admin or just the end user?
If an admin, then you should check the network (IP Routing, if you have a FW somewhere in the path, ...)
The green icon has nothing to with one-/no-way audio. It just says, if the softphone is registered or not.

If you are an end user --> talk to your network admins.

And: There are probably hundreds of post about audio issues and how to troubleshoot it.
