Mail Alerts for CAR database size crosses Low Water Mark

For these alerts where is "to" mail ID configured.

Procedure
  • Choose System > System Parameters > Mail Parameters.
The Mail Parameters window displays.
  • In the Mail ID field, only enter the e-mail identifier that will be used in the From field when e-mails are sent (for example, smith1@abc.com, enter smith1 in the Mail ID field.

Note : CAR does not support SMTP authentication. You must disable authentication on the SMTP mail server.

  • In the Mail Server Name field, enter the domain name for the server that runs the e-mail system (that is, abc.com from the example in Step 2).
  • To make the changes, click the Update button.

As per this procedure it is mentioned that the mail id we enter in the field will be used as "From" however where do we configure that id where the alerts would be sent.

Hi Ramiz,

Thank you for the exact solution Aman !!

Below is the issue description we were facing (for community member's reference)

Issue Description: Random user was getting CAR DATABASE mail alerts. below are the mail details.

Subject:                CAR database size crosses Low Water Mark.

==========================================================================================================================================================================================

The CAR database size has breached the Low Water Mark (80.0 %).
The used CAR database size is 80.71 %.
If possible, please consider the deletion of older records to keep size below the Low Water Mark. Otherwise when High Water Mark limit will be reached, CAR will automatically delete the older records to keep size below High Water Mark.
Data is present in invalid/remainder partition also, which cannot be removed by Automatic-Purge. Please delete these record(s) manually from Manual-Purge.

We checked into the mail parameters in https://<<Your CUCM IP>>/car/

System > System parameters > Mail Parameters

Here the mail id which will be used as a sender was configured(please refer screenshot)

However there was no configuration where the receiver's id was configured still a random user was getting these alert mails.

As guided by Aman I checked EU page of the user who was getting these alerts and found user was assigned to the group " Standard CAR Admin Users".

Removed user from this group and system stopped generating these alerts.
