I would like to do the following: User dials 1-800-xxx-xxxx. Actual called number is 216-xxx-xxxx. This is transparent to the user who called 1-800-xxx-xxxx (i.e.Cisco IP phone display = 1-800-xxx-xxxx).
The reason for this is that there is a cost savings realized when the real called number is 216-xxx-xxxx. Is this accomplished via CUCM or dial-peer?
Thank you.

When using H.323, it can be done either way. Withy MGCP, on CUCM only.

you can do this in a Translation Pattern .1800-XXX-XXXX Set it to PREDOT. and but in the number that you want.
I actaully do this all of the time, to save $$$$$
