Migrating the CUCM version 8.6.2 to 11.5 with new network and server hostname.

++ When I set the Prepare Cluster for Rollback to pre-8.0 enterprise parameter to True , on the source cluster(ver 8.6.2)then the phones are not registering to the cucm.

++ when I perform the below procedure step 8 fails.

Step 1

On the Destination Cluster Publisher, navigate to Cisco Unified Operating System Administration and choose Security > Bulk Certificate Management.

Step 2

Define the Central Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) server IP address, port, user, password, and directory.

Step 3

Use the Export button to export all Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) certificates from the destination cluster to the central SFTP server.

Step 4

On the Source Cluster Publisher, navigate to Cisco Unified Operating System Administration. Select Security > Bulk Certificate Management.

Step 5

Define the Central SFTP server with same parameters that you used in Step 2.

Step 6

Click Export to export all TFTP certificates from source cluster to the central SFTP server.

Step 7

Click Consolidate to consolidate all the TFTP certificates on the central SFTP server. You can perform this step on either the source or destination cluster, using the Bulk Certificate Management interface.

Step 8

Hi,

- What error are you getting on the phones?

- Are you using self signed certificate or ca signed?

Phone is not getting registered, We are using self signed certificate!

Hi Siva,

Is it possible to delete ITL manually on one and see if it registers?

JB

We tested with one phone getting registerd. but we have around 3K IP Phones.really worried on migrating to new box.

Hi Siva,

That means the Prepare Cluster for Rollback to pre-8.0 dint took effect, do you still have the old cluster or is it dismantled already?

Also is this cluster secure or non-secure.

Was the upgrade done from OS admin or PCD?

JB

That means the Prepare Cluster for Rollback to pre-8.0 dint took effect, do you still have the old cluster or is it dismantled already? Old cluster is still in production , Yes its not taking effect when rollback to pre 8.0. CTL/ITL files not getting deleted!

Also is this cluster secure or non-secure.-->NON SECURE

Was the upgrade done from OS admin or PCD?-->THIS DONE THROUGH PCD (BOX TO BOX migration MCS TO UCS)

Hi Siva,

See if below works

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-callmanager/117598-technote-itl-00.html

Otherwise.

You will have to register the phone back to old server and use "Prepare Cluster for Rollback to pre-8.0 " and this time verify on some sample phone that it works.

Or

You can open a TAC case and they have Bulk ITL delete tool which can also help.

(Rate if it helps)

For importing certificate, can you make sure that your cucm clock is correct? Also, why you are exporting/importing for self-signed. This is required for CA signed only.

Dear Mohammed,

Basically we are migration box to box. We migrated CUCM with new ip address, We have around 3k IP Phones. The problem is when we tried to rollback in existing box to clear ITL/CTL files. They phones are not coming up.
