Hi, Can anyone tell me if I remove the Music on Hold for one of our sites from the media resource group I have created for it - will the callers hear a beeping to let them know they are on hold or will there be complete silence? we are running call manager 7.1.5
Regards
Dominic

Assuming it doesn't end up in the default MRGL, yes, they'll get TOH
HTH

Dominic,
Just to clarify what Jamie said. TOH=beep. So yes they will hear beep.

If you remove the Music on Hold (MoH) from the media resource group in Call Manager 7.1.5, callers placed on hold will likely experience complete silence unless you have an alternative hold notification configured. Typically, MoH is used to ensure callers know they are still connected during hold times. Without MoH, and without another form of notification, there will be no audible indication that they are on hold, which could lead to confusion or frustration.
If you want callers to hear a beeping sound instead of silence, you would need to configure an alternative hold treatment, such as a periodic beep or tone, if supported by your system.
