We are running CUCM 10.5.1.10000-7 on BE-6K. We have Cisco 7841 & Cisco 9971 series IP Phones. I am in need to restrict access to dialing facility for users after shift hours/office times & also on weekends. Is it possible to do so?
Also is it possible to restrict calling facility to selected users?

Vikrant.

Hi Vikrant,
You would need to use a feature called Time of Day Routing. This is where you create a Partition that has set times of the day that it is active. You then add this to your Phone CSS.
You would use a Route Pattern for outbound calls, say 0![0-9#] in your PSTN Partition. Create a new partition PSTN_OOH. Assign the same Route pattern (but set to Block this Pattern) to this partition and set the time of day routing so this is active out of hours. Assign both partitions to your Phones CSS or Line CSS (depending on how your call routing is configured) and make sure the timed partition is higher in the priority list in the CSS.
Then at the specified times the Out of Hours Block Route Pattern is higher in the CSS than the Allow Route Pattern so will hit this first, blocking the call.
Consideration will need to be given to Emergency Services to ensure that you don't block access to these numbers.
This document may help, its for an older Call Manager but the configuration is the same.

Hope this helps,
Thanks

Hi,
You can configure Time of day routing on CUCM as Robert mentioned but if you have a unity connection integrated with CUCM you can configured time of day routing on CUC. The biggest advantage of using CUC for time of day is that it lets you configure holiday schedules as well. For example it can play a holiday greeting if somebody calls during christmas or on thanks giving for example whereas on CUCM its either weekdays or weekends and you cannot defined call routing logic based on date.
