Here is my current setup. I have a shared number that is on 4 lines on the phones. Max number of calls is 6 and busy trigger is 1. Problem we are having is user related and want to see if there is a way to prevent it. When line 1 has a call on it, and then someone else presses the 'New Call' softkey, it currently creates the call on the same line. We would like to have the new call go to the second line, or another line that doesn't have an active call, but still keep the max calls at 6.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I think the easiest way to combat this is to always put the "Shared Lines" on Button other than Line 1 (best practice). Try to install a Private DN for users on Line 1 that will be used for this type of call without impacting the other setup.
Just a thought :)

the only way to do that is for users to manually select another line. there is no failover mechanism for what you're looking for that if a line already has a call go to other line that is idle.
even if you change the max calls to 1, only thing that would happen is that you could not press new call, transfer or conference but you would not go and use other line for that.
