New Install - CUCM login via console (VMWare) works, but not web interface

Quick question (time is running out for us, so a quick reply would be appreciated :-))

We have a new install of CUCM 11.5 on a Cisco B6000/UCS 220 server.  We're initially helping remotely but will be onsite next week.  I don't know if the vendor did the base install or if they helped our local contact do it, but here's the situation as of now.

We can log into the CUCM publisher by using the vSphere VMware client to log into the physical server.  Once there, I can go to the virtual machine for CUCM and click on the console for that VM.  From there, I can log in with the login ID and password we were provided with by our local contact.

HOWEVER...we cannot use that same login and password to log into the CUCM web interface.  You know, the ccmadmin page where you do all your normal administration for CUCM.

From what I remember of installing a new virtual machine for CUCM, it only asks for the login and password you want to use once, so I'm not sure why the login works fine for the console but not for the web interface.  Any ideas?

If it matters, the login they used was administrator, not admin....if that matters for some reason.  I mention that because I noticed something unusual when I logged into to console.  When I log in with the username 'administrator', the command prompt goes back to just 'admin', not the full work administrator.  Is there some reason why it's not possible to use administrator as the login ID?  I asked them to use just 'admin', but they came back and told me the login they created was administrator.  Is that a problem?

You're wrong, you're asked for TWO sets of username/password during the install.

One is the OS/CLI/DRS credentials which are created in the underlying OS.

The other one, is the CUCM/serviceability credentials, which are in the CUCM's DB.

You need to ask whoever installed the system what was used for the username for CUCM admin, and what was the password they used.

And the admin: prompt is what everyone sees, no matter the username they used.

Update.  FYI, I CAN log into the OS administrator web interface, but not the normal ccmadmin web interface where you do all the normaldaily  CUCM administrative tasks.

I just got htis working a moment ago.  I was able to get into the web interface by changing the login at the command prompt:

utils reset_application_ui_administrator_name

I changed it to admin...and bang, I'm in.
