No MoH in UCCX

Hi Everyone,

I am having an issue with setting up a new CUCMBE6K deployment with UCCX inclusive.

We have a CUCM 8.6 and UCCX 8.5 and we can get scripts and queueing working and so on.

The problem is that when we "hold" calls in the script there is no Music-on-Hold. I checked the "CM Telephony Call Control Group Configuration" and we have configured User and Network hold music.

I should also mention that we have not confiured any Media Resources or anything on CUCM, however, phones connected to CUCM do have working MoH. What is the issue??

This is the first time I am setting this up, so please excuse me if I am asking a silly question...

Also, does anyone know what is the exact Call Flow for calls to UCCX (i.e. is it CTI Route Point -> Trigger -> CTI Ports -> CUCM ...)?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi David.

Please configure a Media Resource Group  and add MOH server. Than create an Media Resource Group List and add it to the Device Pool used by CTI ports.

Don't forget to reset the associated device.

If you want you can configure a separate device pool in order to avoid to reset all other devices associated to that Device Pool

Hi David.

If you are using multicast MOH, try to change it in unicast and see if it works.

Hi Carlo,

I think we have no multicasting enabled for MoH. I checked under "Music On Hold Server Audio Source Information" and the Allow multicasting box is unticked.

Could it be something wrong with UCCX? Do I maybe have to configure MoH on the GW?

Thanks,

David

Hi David.

Calling the trigger from an internal phone, are you able to hear MOH?

Let me know.

Does that assume that I would be using the CUCM provided MOH source? Because I dont have an MoH source from a gateway (actually dont know how to do it).

Now, when I try to create a new MRG, I get the following available Media Resources: ANN_2; CFB_2; MOH_2; MTP_2. So, when I create the new MRG, should I put all the four resources from above in there, or just "MOH_2" ?

I will test in my lab here then deploy tonight maybe.

Thanks for your help.
