Outbound caller ID values on ISDN PRI will not take when transmitted to the PSTN

All,

Below are errors from a Q931 debug for a Vz PRI circuit. caller ID that we place on the line using  is not what goes out to the PSTN. Items that standout are:

  • Cause i = 0x82E46C - Invalid information element contents
  • Cause i = 0x82AB6C - Access information discarded

The ISDN line config on our end is:

controller T1 0/0/0
 cablelength long 0db
 pri-group timeslots 1-24

isdn switch-type primary-ni
 isdn switch-type primary-ni
 isdn incoming-voice voice
isdn map address . plan unknown type unknown

Ideas?

Hi,

I am based in the UK so I am not sure if this will apply in your country but what I do is capture the debug isdn q931 for an incoming call and then use voice translation rules to make sure what gets sent on outbound calls matches in terms of number of digits etc.

This is what I did for a PRI T1 site, H323 gateway and CUCM not CME

In CUCM 9.1 under DEVICE/GATEWAY/ on the gateway we have/Call Routing Information - Outbound Calls/Caller ID DN/PUT IN THE NUMBER YOU WANT TO GO OUT

see attached picture.

Thanks for the response. I should have mentioned that this location uses a Callmanager Express (CME). The entire config resides on the router.
