Dear IPT Fellows,
We recently got a SIP trunk which is connected to our H323 Gateway. H323 Gateway routes all calls to our Call Manager.
Inbound and outbound calls are working fine. Inbound DTMF is also working fine but outbound DTMF to SIP trunk is not working at all.
We are not able to send any DTMF across the SIP trunk.
Please find the running configuration of H323 Gateway and also the Debug Output.
Please help to solve this out at your earliest.
Service Provider asked us to use following parameters for Calls:
SIP Protocol, Transport UDP
inband dtmf with rfc2833
codec g711alaw

Rameez

Can't think off the top of my head but is there a dtmf config area for the h323 gateway. I know for sure there with sip trunks configured in cucm.

Under SIP Dial-peer use the below setting
voice-class sip dtmf-relay force rtp-nte
dtmf-relay rtp-nte

which dial-peer you are trying to go out through ?

What if you try to make SIP trunk between CUCM and VGW, remember to modify the inbound dial-peers to the CUCM with sess proto sip

Dear mrmhar,
Thanks for your frequent responses and i really admire your cooperation in this regard.
I am testing the outbound dtmf by calling a toll free number 8002443333 and i am using dial-peer 1012 for outbound.
its clear in the debug, that i am hitting dial-peer 1001(inbound call leg from cucm) and 1012 (for outbound SIP dial-peer) to dial 8002443333.
No i did not try SIP trunk between CUCM and VGW as it is a production network. The present setup is working fine except the outbound DTMF, just we need to identify the problem.

Rameez

This is the only dial-peer you are not using
voice-class sip dtmf-relay force rtp-nte

Can you please ellaborate more, i did not get you?

under dial-peer 1012 , you didn't use
voice-class sip dtmf-relay force rtp-nte

Dear mrmhar,
I have already modified and used the mentioned command under the dial peer 1012:
dial-peer voice 1012 voip
description ***Toll Freee***
destination-pattern 8.........
voice-class sip dtmf-relay force rtp-nte
session protocol sipv2
session target ipv4:10.201.20.49:5060
session transport udp
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
codec g711ulaw
no vad
but still issue is same.

Rameez

Good hint bro and let me complete the Answer.
