Outside dial code on some extensions only - Possible?

I would like to configure a setup where all of the IP phones need to dial 9 to get a line out for an external call, but we also have a couple of non-Cisco analog phones through the FXS ports, and would like these to be set up so they don't have to dial 9 for a line out, they can just dial an external number straight away like any "house" style phone, but also able to contact the IP phone extensions as normal.

I have looked everywhere but can't seem to find any documentation on this setup - is it possible?

Thanks in advance,

Nic.

Nic,

I think you should be able to do it using translation pattern.

1. Create a translation pattern for say 555xxxx ( assuming the numbering plan in that area is 555 xxxx )

2. set

3. Thus number reaching out to gateway would be 9555xxxx & should match an outgoing dial-peer with 9T type of destination pattern & should go out of trunk.

4. Remember the partion which contains this Translation pattern will be only kept in analog phone's CSS, so that no other phones should use this dialing pattern.

5. Analog phone will have different CSS than IP Phone's.

Simulate & do let us know how it goes.

GP.
