Hi,
I need to confirm that if i have PVDM2-32 installed in a Cisco 2801 router and i put another PVDM2-64 in the other slot ; will the total be 96?
What i need to check is that i can put any combination of PVDM like 8,32,64 etc as far as i have an empty slot available on the ISR or is there a restriction?
Is same true for PVDM3 modules in 29XX and 39XX routers ?

Yes you can mix different PVDM2 modules in the same chassis; however, 64+32 does not necessarily equal 96. Each DSP chip in the PVDM2 hardware has to be assigned to one task or another. For example. you cannot have the same DSP chip (of which there are two on the -32 or four on the -64 part) assigned to do conferencing and media termination simultaniously. Be sure that you use the DSP Calculator to understand what you need.

Yes but you cannot mix PVDM2 (via the adaptor card) and PVDM3 on the motherboard; it's one or the other.

So is the same true for PVDM3 that for example I had two 64 channel DSPs in a router each one would have to handle a specific task. Can I not configure them as a dspfarm and configure it as a conference bridge for example?

Thnaks for the clear reply.
As i read , the 1 PVDM2 DSP can not be used for transcoding and conferencing at the same time.
Is the same true for PVDM3?
PVDM3
Support for voice connections, universal any-to-any transcoding, G.711-to-any transcoding, and conferencing services on the same DSP with a single DSP image.
