RDP x CTI - CUCM

Hello, mates.

I looked into all docs about it, however I cannot get my doubt properly solved. Can someone please detail me what is the difference between the Remote Destination Profile and the CTI Remote Device

1. Do they work together?

2. Can a Jabber user create a remote external number only with a CTI profile? What would it implicate without RDP?

3. Why sometimes, when selecting "user another number for calls" (E&C) Jabber creates the remote destination on CTI Remote Device and some times on  Remote Destination Profile? (when both exist)

Tks in advance.

Hi there

CTI Remote Device- This from the Extend and Connect feature. This feature requires a Cisco Jabber client and this functionality is intended to be supported in Jabber for Windows 9.1

You can add a maximum of five Directory Numbers to the CTI Remote Device.

You can configure a maximum of four unique Remote Destinations to associate with the CTI Remote Device.

Use cases are below
1. Cisco Jabber for Customers with a Third-Party PBX
2. Cisco Jabber for Mobile Workers

Remote Destination profile is the profile you need to configure on user basis for SNR (Single Number Reach) and associate with Remote Destination. By default 4 Destination and to a max of 10.

SNR more kind of a CUCM/PBX feature which doesn’t need the prerequisite to have Jabber.

Hope this helps
Cheers
