What is the impact on the tftp server if we reboot 6500 phones after a firmware upgrade? Has anyone had this problem? My concern is that it will crash the tftp server trying to accomodate all the incoming requests.

Yes, I have seen the TFTP hanging a lot of times while doing this. First of all what type of phones are you going to upgrade? If you are upgrading the firmware for 7936 and 7935 you need to apply the workaround from this document to avoid any problems:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_field_notice09186a00802282a3.shtml
Then I recommend you to decrease the Count of the requests that the TFTP will handle at the same time that way the TFTP server will only handle a few requests at a time, the only inconvinience is that is going to take a while to upgrade all the phones.

We are upgrading 7940/60 phones. How many phones would be appropriate for reboot at a time without overloading the tftp?
Thanks
