I'll preface this by saying I'm somewhat new to SIP trunks and still learning about the various config options, communication process between endpoints, and deciphering the debug output.
We have a pair of Cisco 2951s set up as our CUBE and a pair of SIP trunks to a cloud based voice service provider, one on each 2951. There are also two targets on the carrier's end that we can connect to, one primary and one secondary. We implemented these SIP trunks a few months ago to replace one of our PRIs, and we're routing our outbound long distance calls through them.
While looking in to an issue I did a "debug ccsip messages" and noticed a lot of registration messages going to our SIP circuit provider containing the destination patterns for some of our dial peers to register the routes, and registration is failing frequently. We are getting tons of "400 Bad Request" responses, some "503 Service Unavailable" and some "401 Unauthorized". We're able to make outbound long distance calls without any problems (only a small handful of reports of issues for calls that went through those trunks) so it doesn't appear to be interrupting service, but I'm wondering why we would be seeing these registration rejections. I plan to speak to our carrier but wanted to gather more info first and get some opinions from anyone that would be capable of providing more insight.
Here's a sample of the debug ccsip messages output:

Can you please share the output of 'show run'? This will better tell us how your dial-plan is and what changes you need to have to stop additional REGISTER triggers.

Does your SIP carrier actually require registration or merely digest authentication? You're configuration has both.
sip-ua credentials username <removed> password 7 <removed> realm <sipcarrier> authentication username <removed> password 7 <removed> retry invite 2 retry register 5 registrar 1 dns:sip1.<sipcarrier>.com expires 60 refresh-ratio 90 registrar 2 dns:sip2.<sipcarrier>.com expires 60 refresh-ratio 90
In fact, it's worth verifying whether the provider even requires digest authentication. Does a call that works include a '407 Proxy Authentication Required' response to the first SIP INVITE followed by a second INVITE with the credentials in it? If not then digest authentication isn't happening either.
