Hi. We have two call-managers: Pub and Sub. The router can ping both' ip address. and both Pub and Sub are activated already. When showing ccm-manager in the router, we can see Pub ip address, but cannot see Sub ip address. Anyone can give some suggestion? Thank you

Hi,

Your MGCP config looks to be incomplete / incorrect as the gateway doe snot show registered in the output.

Also, you need to add ccm-manager redundant-host {ip-address of Sub } in the config of gateway.

Make sure that the gateway is added with domain name R1.ccievoice.com on cucm page. Once you make any changes, reset the gateway from cucm page.

Just found something in the config, you have configured port 0/1/0 on gateway for isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager

interface Serial0/1/0:23

no ip address encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-ni

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager

no cdp enable

However you have configured port 0/0/0 on cucm page, make sure they are the same on cucm page and gateway.

Please provide your configuration and output of the show ccm-manager.  Did you configure both in your MGCP configuration?

Thank you for your reply.

Did you configure both in your MGCP configuration?

Do you mean both in router or cucm?

Please see the below, especially highlighted by bold

Thank you for your reply. You are right. After adding the command, I can see sub. And

Your MGCP config looks to be incomplete / incorrect as the gateway doe snot show registered in the output.

why did you say "the gateway doe snot show registered in the output."

Thank you

Manish mentioned that because in the below output, it shoud show as registered instead of registering.

R1(config)#do sh ccm
MGCP Domain Name: R1.ccievoice.com
Priority Status Host
============================================================
Primary Registering with CM 192.100.64.1

So as suggested by Manish, you need to make sure that you have added teh gateway as "R1.ccievoice.com" in CUCM and also check the DP is correct.

Yes, Thank you all

I just noticed the status of pub and sub are changing. Do you think this is normal ?

Can you share screenshots of the gateway config page on cucm and the latest show run.

Manish

Please see attachment.

The config looks good, Can you reset the MGCP gateway from cucm page and the do a no mgcp / mgcp on the gateway. If the endpoints still show registering on gateway then check if router is able to ping cucm and vice versa. Get the "debug mgcp packets" from gateway after resetting it from cucm page.

Manish

I did all based on what you said except ping from cucm to the R1 as I did not find where to put the ping command. Show ccm is still the same as before. The below is debug output

R1#debug mgcp packets

Media Gateway Control Protocol packets debugging for all endpoints is on

Login into CLI of the Publisher and Subscriber ( OS admin credentials ) and do a "utils network ping R1.ccievoice.com"

You can also use the ping utility from CUCM OS admin web page.

Manish

Yes, you are right! I tried several times to change it into 0/1/0 by clicking the folder right next to the box. but the clicking only can open new page. I have not found where to change it. Can you give some suggestion? Ping is Ok between Pub/Sub to R1. Thank you

Do a "show diag" on the gateway and corresponding to that choose the correct slot, subslot and interface on cucm .
