simple analog fax question

My client's users are moving to a new building. They have fax machines in the old building that they would like to bring over to the new site.

If they plug the fax machines over to the new building into the existing analog phones that plug into the ata. Will this work.

Will we just have to plug the fax machines into the existing ata ports. Is there anything else we need to do?

Hello,

be warned that FAX over ATA can and often presents problems. The suggestion is to use H.323 with certain particular settings that are summarized in documents available on CCO.

My personal advice, if you have any chance of having the customer connect the fax to pots lines in the new building, do it.
