Hi
It is possible to add RFC 2833 support to IOS conference server and avoid the use of MTP resources when doing a conference over a SIP Trunk?

rfc2833 is supported through conference bridges without additional config. You can verify this using the command 'show sccp' as below. If you see MTP inserted then one of the endpoints isn't supporting rtp-nte (probably using sccp).
Conferencing Oper State: ACTIVE - Cause Code: NONE
Active Call Manager: 10.170.170.2, Port Number: 2000
TCP Link Status: CONNECTED, Profile Identifier: 10

Hey Mohammed
I do see those lines (rfc2833) on my sccp IOS conference bridges.
Before invoking the conference and when I have the other 2 external users, I don't see MTP. MTP is only invoke when I press the conference soft key on the IP Phone. Before, each individual call did not invoke MTP.
In other words when all streams are send to the conference bridge is when MTP gets invoke.
Any ideas?
This is the scenario:
IP Phone 1 --> SIP TRunk --> Line 2 (NO MTP)
IP Phone 1 --> Sip TRunk --> Line 3 (No MTP)
IP Phone 1 --> IOS Conference
Line 2 --> SIP Trunk ---> IOS Conference (MTP)
Line 3 --> SIP Trunk ----> IOS Conference (MTP)

Can you share the output of show sip-ua call during point to point and conference call on the CUBE. I want to see the dmtf-relay used in both cases.
Also, please share the output of show sccp conn during point to point and conference call.

Found the answer with TAC: Conference bridge does not support RFC2833 (even though it says otherwise). Then, if a conference is invoke and any end point support only rfc2833, MTP is invoke on that endpoint.
