Hello Huston,
I have a situation,
A client of mine implemented direct SIP trunk from their CUCM 8.5 to their MERA softswitch.
They set MTP required, cause doesn't work otherwise.
MTP is CallCount = 120 on each CUCM (2 of them in cluster)
We have certain number of disconnected/dropped calls from CC agents phones,
Reason: Q.850;cause=47 shows on Mera and on CUCM traces.
A strange thing I've noticed through trace is that devices are trying to locate/contact a Transcoder/MTP gateway that is no longer active, its actually deleted, and after it's not found Trace shows error.

Could this error generate drop of calls?
Does someone has any suggestions, what should I do regarding dropped calls and that error for trying to contact deleted Transcoder/MTP?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanx

Hi,
did you try creating new MRGL with available MTP on the top of the list and assign it to SIP Trunk?
also, can you check the service parameter " Fail Call over SIP Trunk if MTP allocation fails" ?

Hello Suresh,
Thank you for your answer. Why would I need another MRGL?
For the deleted transcoder, it was bound to some long forgotten profile, so it should be fine regarding transcoder and trying to connect with it.
I left some detailed traces to work over weekend, so I'll check them after work.
Cheers

Hi V,
first of all Q.850;cause 47 means "Resource unavailable/ unspecified".
Could you provide more information on how the MTP is registered?
E.g. IOS Enhanced SW MTP
Did you checked the MRG's and MRGL's?
Did you a restart for the affected phones?
Could this error generate drop of calls?
It could appear as such, but i would describe it as lost call. Because the call never established.
Regards.

Hi Steffen,
MTP is CUCM software one, and its in the MRGL, 2 CUCMs actually,
It could appear as such, but i would describe it as lost call. Because the call never established.
Besides never established calls, there are dropped calls.
Didn't restart affected phones, because calls are dropped randomly, don't know if there are particular phones affected.
What can I do, to uncheck MTP Required and to have calls go to agents?
I hate when something is configured and I am not aware of it, until problem comes up.
Thanx
V

It was codec of course... They haven't match codec on both sides of SIP trunk.
Thanx everyone
Cheers
