Dear All,

I am trying to configure SIP trunk with authentication on Cisco call manager 6.1. I follow this url http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/security/6_0_1/secugd/secrealm.html#wp1070948
to configure the trunk. when I try to call it make the call, after about 2 min it hanges.

I check the logs, it show me that the phone send invite message and there is not reply from the provider.

I test the account with xlite softphone and it is working correctly.

this is the blow Invite message. is one configure this before ? Thanks in advance

CUCM does not support authentication on SIP trunks, you will need a CUBE between CUCM and ISP.

Hi Chris,

I check the below URL

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/security/6_0_1/secugd/secrealm.html#wp1070948

it talks about cisco authentication for sip trunks. can you advise about it

thanks in advance

Regards

Anas

Digest authentication is available on SIP stations not SIP trunks.

HTH,

Chris

Hi Chris,

thanks again for your quick response.

just to make sure, this feature is not supported on all ccm versions or just on my version 6.1 ?

regards

Anas

Correct, no current version of CUCM including 9.1 supports authentication on SIP trunks. I would doubt that will change in near future as Cisco's approach is you should use CUBE for all SIP PSTN connections.

Chris

Hi Chris,

thanks for your support

Anas

Hi, don't you know if there is some change about SIP trunks authentication on CUCM version 10 ? Thanks

  Bertrand

No change, and I don't think you should expect one any time as I doubt this is on the roadmap.

Chris

Hello All,

Could someone give me the documentation to make this on cube and if this cube is register with Webex calling  , Could it register also with the sip provider ?

BR,

Please ask your question in a separate post instead of asking it on a multiple years old post, that is marked as solved. Apart from this your question is off topic to the OP, so either way it should not have been posted in this thread.
