The current SIP version being used every where is 2.0 irrespective of whether it is Cisco or Avaya. RFC 3261 defines it.

Hi there

RFC’s are more commonly known as SIP 1.0 (2543) and SIP 2.0 (3261). Cisco CUCM supports any 3rd party which has got the RFC 3261 compliance. You can get that details from the below guide

  • Third-Party SIP Device (Advanced)-This eight-line SIP device is an RFC3261-compliant phone that is running SIP from third-party companies.
  • Third-Party SIP Device (Basic)-This one-lineSIPdevice is an RFC3261-compliant phone that isrunning SIP from third-party companies
