Lack of "network-clock-participate" and "network-clock-select" configuration.

Hope this help, please rate post if it does!

can you kindly elaborate your answer. Can this slip error can cause a delay on a call?

currently, we have two providers connected on an E1 module, and we are experiencing slips on E1 port. what do we need to do?

Configure the commands indicated above with the correct slot and number.

Note if the two providers are using different clocks, you can still see slips, in that case you will need a vwic2 module and the option clock source independent under controller E1.

You have to insert the "network-clock-participate" and "network-clock-select" commands in your router.

For example, if there are 2 E1's:

network-clock-participate wic 0

network-clock-participate wic 1

network-clock-select 1 E1 0/0/0

network-clock-select 2 E1 0/1/0

After that do a "clear counters" and your "slips secs" should have disappeared.

thanks, i just want to know if this slip secs can cause problems on call delays we are experiencing, short to say, slips is not normal on an E1 link.

slips is not normal, have little effect on voice calls, but will cause fax to fail.

Please configure the commands as indicated above.

Can you describe in more detail what delay you're experiencing?

Maybe include a topology of the call flow w/delay.

Is the issue with delayed ringback or audio?

Is it heard at the beginning of the call or throughout the duration of the call?

Is it intermittent or does it happen on every call?

Has this ever worked properly before?

when the caller say 3 hello, only 2 hellos are heard. Yes this works properly before, this is the only time it happens.

Not sure which caller is which.

Do you mean that when the IP phone answers a call from the PSTN, the PSTN caller does not hear the first seconds of the call?

Is this an mgcp or h323 gateway?

Does this happen to all IP phones?
