I have an issue with Cisco Unity Express on a UC560 being unable to send email notifications.
The message returned is "Could not connect to SMTP Host" even when using the "test voicemail notification ...." command on the CLI
The CUE card appear to be running v3.0
I have configured following system settings within Unity Express
voicemail notification enable
voicemail notification preference all
voicemail notification email attach
voicemail configuration outgoing-email from-address voicemail@domain-name
smtp server address mail.domain-name port 25 authentication none
and have configured each subscriber with the following
voicemail notification owner <username> enable
When I type "Show Voicemail Configuration" I only get
Outgoing Email from-Address: voicemail@domain-name
I have tested the connection from the router to the mail server using the "telnet mail.domain-name 25" command which connects and I have also tested connectivity from the CUE card using the ping command "ping mail.domain-name" which both resloves and gets a response from the mail server.
Interestingly, when I try to connect to the SMTP service on the CUE card using telnet 25 command, it responds with "System is not accepting Network messages" which I assume is because I have not configured any Network Locations.
Can anybody assist
Brian
