Hello,
Does anybody know if we can register the SX20 as a 3rd party SIP endpoint in older versions of CUCM (prior to 8.6)? Otherwise, I guess my options are upgrading to 8.6 or get a VCS.
Thanks,
Manuel

Cisco has strongly advocated native registration for all Tandberg end points with 8.6 except for E20 which is 8.5. If you register and it works then it’s one thing but getting support from TAC if you have issues will be a challenge since Cisco officially supports from 8.6
Thanks

I've three question:
1) If i register the SX20 as a 3rd-party sip device i need a Enhanced UCL license, if i would like to register it as a native endpoint on a CUCM 8.6 what kind of license i need? Enhanced 210$ or Video 295$?
2) Can the SX20 be configured to use the CUCM phonebook in a SIP registration? I've seen the option to configure the phonebook in that way in the admin guide.
3) In the CUCM native registration can i use the built-in multisite feature of the SX20 device?

1. You need TP single screen under UCL
2. Corporate directory should be supported but it doesn’t hierarchical phone books, that would require VCS registration
3. Yes MS can work with CUCM or VCS registration. Multi way requires VCS registration. On the roadmap for CUCM

Thank you Srini!
I remember a document about UCL showing for any type of license what kind of devices were entitled to use. Do you know if there is a updated version of it?

Hi Srini,
I would like to add a question on this thread, now with regards to CUWL.
What if I would like to integrate and buy 3 additional SX 20 video endpoints to the CUCM in CUWL.
I haven't heard from my Partner whether this is CUWL PRO or STD. Can I be provided answers to both scenarios? For UCL the answer is simply get a Single Screen license and we're good to go as this thread and others confirmed. What about CUWL? Do we need CUWL Add On or they will already be entitled to have 1 SX20 per user?
Page 4 of the CUWL Ordering Guide shows that a CUWL STD user is entitled to 2 x IP and 1 Desktop Video, while a CUWL PRO user is entitled to 10 x IP and 1 Desktop Video, where will the SX20 come into picture?

On the IPCBU Ordering Guide, Desktop Video license only list Telepresence EX Series.

So UCL is still needed as an add on to the CUWL SKU. CUWL only covers up to desktop video level which is the EX series. The single/multi screen end points don’t have an equivalent CUWL SKU and hence you use UCL add on to get that piece

Thanks for the prompt response, so using R-CUCM-USR-LIC I'll simply add Single Screen TP License 'LIC-TP-SGL-SRN-UPG' and add UCSS + ESW and I'm good to go?

You can use L-CUCM-USR-LIC-ADDON if it’s a add on versus a new install
Thanks

Got it. Thanks Srini!

So how about an SX20 connected to two screens (with Dual Display option).
Does that need a Single Screen licence or Multi Screen?
