T1 voice codec complexity

Dear everybody,

According to Cisco DSP calculator, I'm able to assign "Voice Codec numbers" to T1/E1 cards

But in voice gateway, how do I know/define the T1 is using the Low, medium or high complexity in config file?

is it refer to the voice codec that has applied to dial-peer voice voip ?

if I have voice class define as follow, will the DSP change to medium complexity ?

!

voice class codec 1

codec preference 1 g711ulaw

codec preference 2 g711alaw

codec preference 3 g729br8

codec preference 4 g729r8

!

dial-peer voice 102 voip

destination-pattern 10..

session target ipv4:10.10.10.1

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

no vad

----------------------------------------------------------

or define in the voice-card ?

!

voice-card 0

  codec complexity medium

Thanks

Sam

Hi,

It is defined in the voice-card. The codec complexity of the voice-card is what determines the complexity mode the dsp will operate in
