Tertiary Server options for 8841 phones

Hello,

In our infrastructure we have our 8841 desk phones registering to our Subscriber(Primary/Active server) and as our 'Stand-by Server', the Publisher(Secondary server). I also noticed that the TFTP fields correlate this as well in the phone IPv4 network settings.

Is it possible to have the phone register/acknowledge a tertiary option such as our DR site, in case both those servers were unavailable then it could register to an off-site CUCM server?

Any assistance, or any links to documentation relating to this question will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Sergio

That is controlled by the UCM group configuration and only servers running CUCM service within the same cluster can be added.

This answers my question. Thank you!

If you have three CM CPE nodes in your CMG the phones would use these in the order you define in the CMG. Worth knowing is that the phones would at any given time have a connection with two out of these three servers. So if the first server becomes unavailable the phone would switch over to the second server and initiate a connection with the third server to be ready to switch to it if necessary.
