My customer has some 2900/2800 voice gateways at their remote sites. They plan to have one or two POTS lines at these sites for 911 and SRST. They are requesting to have the voice gateway periodically test the line for dial tone and report via SNMP to their monitoring station if there is trouble. I looked into doing something like this with an EEM script, but I can't seem to find a command that will test for dial tone on a port.
I attempted to use csim start, but it kept crashing my router when the script would execute the command (it would run fine when I was telnetted in to the gateway and running it) (Running 15.1.4M9 on 2801).
I looked through the available test commands, but can't seem to find something to do this with.
If anyone has a command they know of to check for dial tone on an FXO port, I would really appreciate it!
