Hi there
I have the business requirement to create a softkey template like:
Pickup / Forward / Redial / Hlog
With this template, they have all their key's on the first page and don't need to spend a Button to "more".
The Problem is, that "NewCall" ist mandatory and I have two questions about that:
-why?
-is there a workaround?
cheers

Hi Reto,
Yes, you're right. I just checked on one of my boxes as well. There is no workaround at this time apparently. I did find an old defect:
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCdz25157
NewCall and EndCall should not be mandatory softkeys
This talks about exactly the same thing, however, the fix should already be incorporated in the newer versions unless it got left out for some reason in the coding. I would suggest opening a TAC case to get the issue fixed.
HTH.
Regards,
Harmit.

Hi Reto,
I'll just add this note to the great tips from my friend Harmit +5
One thing of note is that as soon as you go over 4 Softkeys in any Template the "More" softkey becomes mandatory as well, so the client request won't be fully possible
The "New Call" softkey can however be moved down the Selection List Order so it is not on the first line
and the client can pick their Top 3 to be on the first screen.
Cheers!
