Tom W.

Hi All,

Any input is appreciated. When it comes to matching a Translation Pattern as well as a Route Pattern, which one takes priority?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

If you configure two exact patterns like 1XXX , one of them as Translation pattern and other as Route pattern then the priority will be based on the route partition that is assigned to the route pattern and translation pattern. The route partition that is higher in the list of ordered partitions in the CSS of the calling device will take precedence. You should also be aware of the "Urgent Priority" checkbox on the Translation pattern

Urgent Priority

If the dial plan contains overlapping patterns, Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not route the call until the interdigit timer expires (even if it is possible to dial a sequence of digits to choose a current match). Check this check box to interrupt interdigit timing when Cisco Unified Communications Manager must route a call immediately.

Tip

By default, the Urgent Priority check box displays as checked.Unless your dial plan contains overlapping patterns or variable length patterns that contain !, Cisco recommends that you do not uncheck the check box.

Hi,

Translation Pattern have mandatory urgent priority. Any time translation pattern is MATCHED it will be used immediatly.

Regards

You can uncheck the 'Urgent Priority' checkbox on TP to alter this behavior, unlike the pre 7.x cucm versions which did not allow this to be unchecked, the new versions have this option.
