Translation Pattern

I upgrade my CUCM to version 15 and found my translation rule is not working only for one rule.

We can see i have translation pattern 0 with details :

  • Dial 0 from PT_IPT_SS2, PT_IPT_WW and PT_IPT_WBP will redirect to ext 80920
  • Dial 0 from PT_IPT_SLK will redirect to ext 56622

But i tested dial 0 from all partition is redirected to 56622 (hit rule to PT_IPT_SLK). Then i try modify rule PT_IPT_SS2 and change from 0 to *, then dial * from PT_IPT_SS2 and call redirected to 80920 and this is what i expected. Changing back from * to 0 and the call redirected to 56622 again. Anyone know why the translation 0 is not working and how to troubleshoot this?

Per this the pattern in the PT named PT_IPT_SS2 should be selected if there are more than one equal match as it's order first in the available PT list in the CSS.

What output do you get from Dialed Number Analyser (DNA) if you check the call scenario?

Edit: I see that there are more PTs ordered higher in the CSS as there is a gap in the scroll bar to the right.

Are you absolute sure that PT PT_IPT_SLK isn't ordered higher in the list of available partitions in this CSS?

What is the content of your CSS that is used by the device(s) that are making the call? Do they have one or maybe even all of these partitions visible?

hi @Roger Kallberg

This device i used to make call test. The DN is under PT_IPT_WBP so when dial 0 should be redirect to 80920 and not to 56622. I'm feel strange when the rule changed from 0 to * then the translation rule is working.

I'm asking for the content of the Calling Search Space that you have set on the device and/or directory number. The partition where you have the DN has no relevance to what is selected when making a call from a DN. It is only used when someone makes a call to the DN.

hi @Roger Kallberg

The device using CSS SLI_TOLL_WBP and here the content. This is what you mean?

Hi @Roger Kallberg

After see result from DNA yes i found the issue where the RT PT_IPT_SLK is higher so the call redirected to this rule.

Great to hear that. One question, why do you have all of these partitions available/visible in your CSS? If all that they are intended to hold is different Transition Patterns then IMO you should just have one of these present in the CSS and have multiple CSSs to hold the other, one per PT you have.
