Understanding SDLSignalling messages CUCM.

Hi folks,

Am troubleshooting a phone issue and need support / guidance in understanding CUCM SDL Signalling messages.

Eg:

1. Line 5730: 32049045.000 |16:37:00.330 |SdlSig   |CcUpdateRegistration                 |restart0

2. Line 5737: 32049047.000 |16:37:00.330 |SdlSig   |CcUpdateRegistration                 |call_active10

3. Line 5751: 32049055.000 |16:37:00.330 |SdlSig-O |CcUpdateRegistration               |NA RemoteSignal

4. Line 19500: 32020989.000 |16:33:33.165 |SdlSig   |CcSetupReq                             |null0

5. Line 19502: 32020990.000 |16:33:33.165 |SdlSig   |CcSetupReq                                  |wait

 

6. 32021179.000 |16:33:34.199 |SdlSig   |CcSetupConf                            |call_received7

Does restart0 means Phone restarted?

Call Active10 means Call is Active

 

Please suggest.

Hi Ritesh,

Restart0 does not always indicate a phone restart in SDL. These messages wont give much information when you are troubleshooting phone registration issues. I would suggest that you get Event viewer - application logs and Event viewer - system logs. These are plain text messages which gives more insight when a phone unregisters/registers along with the cause code.

Rajan is correct. Your best bet to troubleshoot phone registration is to look at CUCM event viewer logs.

Use RTMT> go to Syslog viewer, select the cucm node that the phone is registred to, thehn click on application logs>alternatesyslog

 

When a phone un-registers from CUCM it will print a "Lastoutofserviceinformation" alarm. The reason for the out of service will then also be logged
