CUMA 7.x will integrate with CUCM 7.1. However, you will need a Cisco ASA running the UC Proxy feature set (and associated licensing). The Cisco ASA is placed in your DMZ. The ASA will proxy connections from CUMC to CUMA. The CUMA server will then allow CUMC features to access backend services offered by CUCM (call processing), LDAP (directories), Exchange (calendaring), etc.
