Unity Connection Active Schedule

What is active schedule used for on a normal voicemail box? I have a user who has a active schedule set for weekdays 8am to 5pm, does this mean that a voicemail cannot be left outside of those hours?

If the user has a Closed Transfer Rule set on their mailbox, the Active Schedule will determine when that Closed Transfer Rule is active. Also, if the user has a Closed Greeting (whether or not they have a Closed Transfer Rule) then that Closed Greeting will play during the non-active hours.

The After Greeting Action on the Standard Greeting or Closed Greeting (or any other active greeting) will determine if a message if left. If the After Greeting Action is set to "Take a Message" then that is what Unity Connection will do.

So, take a look at the Transfer Rules. That determines what the voicemail box will 'do' when Unity Connection 'sends' a call to it. Also look at the Greetings to determine if a Closed Greeting is active and, if so, what the After Greeting Action is.

If no Closed Transfer Rule is set and no Closed Greeting is set, then the Standard Transfer Rule and Standard Greeting will be in effect regardless of the Active Schedule on the box.
