Unity Connection Upgrade from 8.6.2 to 9.1 latest version

Hi,

Am planning to Upgrade my CUC(Unity Connection) from 8.6.2 to 9.1 latest version, having my Call manager in the same version 8.6.2. I will upgrade my Call Manager from 8.6.2 to 9.X later.

Hope i can upgrade my CUC first.

I need some info like,

1) Am not getting the image to download which can upgrade from 8.6.2 to 9.1 latest version directly. Should i have to move to 9.0 first and then to 9.1 ??

2) Is their any pre cautions need to be taken care/ well known issues during the upgrade.

3) Also, hope licensing get migrated automatically (no need to have extra efforts)

4) Advantages of Moving to 9.x wrt to features compared to 8.6.

Pls suggest.

Hi Jagadish,

this means that if you are upgrading from 9.x to 9.x only, u download this patch and no license would be required.

but if u have existing versions mentioned in link then, u need to place order to cisco through Product Upgrade tool [PUT] since that is counted as a major upgrade .while placing the order u can opt for physical delivery or e-delivery.You would be provided PAK keys through same shipment which would be used for generating licneses for desired version.But the same patch can be downloaded.

to achieve the same , u require UCSS and ESW contract.

for licensing on ELM, u need to get in touch with licensing@cisco.com.Do take backup of UCXN 8.6 before initiating upgrades.

I had been through the link earlier and was bit confused, so thought of querying.

It says for For upgrade from 9.X. Upgrades from 6.x, 7.x and 8.x neet to be requested via PUT(www.cisco.com/upgrade) or purchased to obtain necessary license.
