Quick Question:
For the Unity failover server name restriction to have the first 14 characters unique, do I only need to make sure the character at position X is unique?
Server Name 1: 123456789
Server Name2: 0123456789
Will this work? Or do I have to really make the characters within the first 14 exclusively unique?

This is an interesting question. I am not familiar with this restriction. I have a failover cluster right now with one server named UNITY-BU and another named UNITY-PRI. I'll be interested to hear what you find out.
Thanks,
Steve

This will work because these are unique within the first 14 characters. The following would not work:
Server 1 - thisisservername1
Server 2 - thisisservername2
The names are unique, but not within the first 14 characters.
This requirement is indicated in the following link.

Hope this helps.
